I am a physiologist and biologist by training, and I have worked in the intersection between physiology, neuroscience and medicine for my entire career. My research interest is how cardiorespiratory stressors, such as carbon monoxide or respiratory restriction, affect health, and I am particularly interested in the impact these have on the human brain. I am currently a Lecturer in healthcare and biosciences at Sheffield Hallam University, where I am investigating the effect of carbon monoxide on cerebral vasculature using fMRI and transcranial Doppler ultrasound.
